Mark Francis Miller, 64, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2025, in Clermont, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, ambition, fearless adventure, and an unmatched talent for problem-solving. His life was a testament to living boldly, building brilliantly, and tackling every challenge head-on.
Born on June 24, 1960, in Dearborn, Michigan, Mark was the son of Arthur ‘Skip’ and Suzanne Miller. Raised on Key Biscayne Island near Miami, Florida, he honed the determination that shaped his fearless approach to life. In those formative years, adventure was second nature—outsmarting President Nixon’s secret service in good-natured pranks was just the beginning.
During those formative years, he developed a passion for waterskiing, boating, and cars.
On January 28, 1989, Mark married the love of his life, Dana Z. Nelson. Together, they built a life full of passion, resilience, and boundless exploration, raising two incredible sons, Chase and Lance Miller, in Groveland, Florida.
Mark excelled in golf course construction and maintenance, spending years working alongside the legendary Arnold Palmer, managing operations with the expertise he was known for. Mark launched his career at 18 at the famed Seminole Country Club before joining Arnold Palmer’s team in 1984 to help construct PGA National in Jupiter, Florida. His expertise spanned continents, contributing to the creation of Metro West Golf Course in Orlando, Florida, Sanctuary Cove in Australia, a distinguished course in Malaysia, and Legends Golf Course in Clermont, Florida.
But Mark didn’t just build golf courses—he built solutions, strengthened communities, and created opportunities.
In 2011, Mark and Dana established Enhanced Florida Homes, a construction company committed to building handicap ramps and renovating homes to better serve the disabled across Florida. For Mark, it wasn’t just a business—it was about giving people the freedom to navigate their world with dignity, independence, and confidence.
Never one to sit still, Mark found solace on the water. The Bahamas—especially Elbow Cay and Hope Town— became his haven, a place where he could take the helm, navigate open waters, and explore the islands—each leading to lasting stories, lasting friendships, and lasting memories.
Mark’s spirit was indomitable—an unstoppable force of ingenuity, resilience, and fearlessness. He was the kind of man who could fix anything, build anything, and take on whatever life threw his way. His legacy will live on in every problem solved, every adventure taken, and every life he influenced.
A celebration of life will be held on June 28th, 2025 from 10am -12pm at the Miller Family Home.
